We’re excited to share that Sui is now officially live on Dune. Starting today, every piece of onchain activity from Sui — transaction flows, smart contract interactions, token transfers, NFT minting, and more — is query-able, visualizable, and exportable through Dune’s platform. 

What is Sui?

Sui is a Layer-1 blockchain designed from the ground up for speed, scalability, and usability. Developed by Mysten Labs, Sui introduces a novel architecture built around an object-centric model in the Move programming language, with advanced capabilities in composability and scalability. This design allows for parallel execution of transactions, enabling extremely high throughput and low latency without sacrificing security.

Sui’s focus on horizontal scalability means the network can grow with demand, while its developer-friendly primitives, such as Programmable Transaction Blocks, encourage asset composability and processing scalability in DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and beyond. Already, we’ve seen strong adoption: from decentralized exchanges and lending protocols to innovative projects in digital assets and real-world tokenization.

Why now? 

Over the past several months, we’ve seen Sui reach strong growth in its DeFi ecosystem: rising TVL, more active users, and increasing trading volumes. At the same time, infrastructure enhancements (wallet integrations, cross-chain bridges, and new performant tools) have made Sui’s data richer. 

Institutional interest adds another dimension. With ETF filings, stablecoin integrations, and more financial infrastructure being built, there is growing demand for transparency, instrumentation, and the ability to measure what’s happening. Bringing Sui’s data onchain to Dune meets that demand.

Spotlight: Walrus on Sui

One of the most exciting projects emerging from the Sui ecosystem is Walrus, a new protocol focused on decentralized storage and data availability. Built to complement Sui’s high-performance execution environment, Walrus tackles one of blockchain’s biggest challenges: how to handle vast amounts of data in a way that is efficient, secure, and verifiable.

Walrus leverages Sui’s architecture to provide scalable, programmable data management that can be tapped by applications ranging from AI agents to data markets and DeFi. By combining data availability with Sui’s parallelized transaction model, Walrus opens the door for new classes of applications that require fast and reliable access to datasets of all sizes.

To date, it has processed 15.2M blobs, with around 2.47M active. Since the June 14 “Quilt” upgrade, activity shows fewer blobs per day but with a significantly larger average size. On Dune, you can now explore Walrus trends across blobs per day and per epoch, track active vs cumulative storage, analyze size distributions (from sub-1 MB to 1 GB+), and monitor the growth of certified storage.

Sui data on Dune

With Sui live on Dune, all users can dive deep into its ecosystem:

• Trace daily activity: see how many transactions are happening, which smart contracts are being called most often.
  
  
• Compare Sui with other chains: DeFi performance, gas fees, user growth — put Sui side by side with other Layer-1 / Layer-2 chains to understand where it stands.
  
  
• Explore protocol health: watch liquidity, fees, token flows, and usage for key Sui protocols such as Walrus, Deepbook, DeFi projects, and NFT Marketplaces.
